Abstract
Recent advances in digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping human behavior, psychological practice, and social science research. This systematic literature review explores the intersection of psychology, technology, and AI, focusing on behavioral prediction, psychological assessment, decision-making, ethical considerations, and the use of AI in social science. Using a qualitative, interdisciplinary approach, the review draws on evidence from psychology, computer science, sociology, and behavioral sciences. Of 61 records identified, 35 studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings show that AI and digital technologies enhance researchers’ and practitioners’ ability to analyze complex behavioral data, predict human behavior, support psychological assessment, inform decision-making, and advance social science research. However, significant ethical and practical challenges remain, including privacy, informed consent, algorithmic bias, transparency, fairness, and responsible data management. The review concludes that integrating AI responsibly requires strong ethical standards, transparency, effective oversight, interdisciplinary collaboration, and robust safeguards for individual rights and privacy. Future research should examine the long-term psychological and social impacts of AI and assess its effectiveness across diverse populations and contexts.
